   - Rich and Poor in the New Testament

Excerpt from Rich and Poor in the New Testament: A Study of the Primitive-Christian Doctrine of Earthly Possessions

There is no lack of treatises on the attitude of Jesus toward the Social Question, and in these there is usually a chapter on his teaching regarding riches and poverty. There is, however, no work in English known to the writer that deals with the teaching of the entire New Testament on the social question that concerns the relation of Rich and Poor and on Earthly Possessions in general in their connection with the moral-religious life. The little German monograph by Kogge, Der irdische Bcsitz im neuen Testament, attempts to cover this ground, and does it in a spirit of candour and impartiality.
